        Fee Structure

Legal fees are subject to an agreement between clients and lawyers and may be significantly influenced by the characteristics of the case in question. Individual cases and engagements may vary significantly depending on how much working time and expertise are needed to fulfil an engagement, or how much responsibility the lawyer has to assume.

Below you can find a summary of the fee calculation schemes usually applied by our law firm, provided, however, that the exact amount of legal fees is always determined on the basis of a free consultation with the prospective client. Based on the specific needs of our clients, the below fee calculation methods can be combined or even customized payment terms may be established.

If you have any questions regarding the above or you would like to request the application of a different fee calculation method for your case, please do not hesitate to contact us by using the contact details provided here.

        Fixed legal fee

The client pays a fixed fee for the legal work, which amount is jointly agreed by the client and the lawyer. Typically, this fee calculation method is applied for the provision of legal advice on an occasional basis or drafting a legal instrument (e.g. agreement).

        Tiered legal fee

In this case, the legal fee consists of several items, which are related to the distinct phases of the case to take care of. This fee calculation method is usually applied in litigations, where the instalments become due upon initiation of the first instance, second instance, extraordinary judicial review and/or enforcement proceedings.

        Flat-rate legal fee

According to this fee calculation method, the fee applies to a specific period (e.g. month/quarter), during which the lawyer will be available for consultation for the agreed number of hours. In general, this remuneration form is used to secure the legal services of a lawyer for a longer term.

        Hourly fee

Hourly fees are the most flexible form of fee calculation; in this case clients are charged subsequently for the working hours completed by the lawyer during a given period of time (e.g. month/quarter). This fee calculation method can practically be used for any sort of engagement.
